CHINA LOTTERY PERFORMANCE: September 2010 UP 25% YOY; Jan to September 2010 UP 23% YOY

For Sept 2010, total lottery sales recorded a growth of 25% YOY to RMB 13.95 billion YOY (Sept 2009: RMB11.17 billion). Please refer to the attachment for breakdown.

For Jan-Sept 2010, total lottery sales recorded a growth of 23% YOY to RMB 118.04 billion YOY (Jan-Sept 2009: RMB 95.79 billion). Please refer to the attachment for breakdown.

The lottery sales data reveals:

I. WELFARE LOTTERY

For Sept 2010, Welfare Lottery accounted for about 57.85% (RMB 8.07 billion) of total lottery sales for the month, up 27% YOY. Lotto games accounted for about 74.35% of total welfare lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 14.87%, and VLT of about 10.78%.

For Jan-Sept 2010, Welfare Lottery accounted for about 58.21% (RMB 68.71 billion) of total lottery sales for the period, up 26% YOY. Lotto games accounted for about 76.54% of total welfare lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 14.69%, and VLT of about 8.78%.

a. Welfare Lotto

For Sept 2010, Welfare Lotto sales were RMB 6 billion, up 12% YOY.

For Jan-Sept 2010, Welfare Lotto sales were RMB 52.59 billion, up 11% YOY.

b. Welfare Instant Scratch Cards

For Sept 2010, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 1.2 billion, up 54% YOY.

For Jan-Sept 2010, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 10.09 billion, up 48% YOY.

c. Video Lottery

For Sept 2010, VLT sales reached RMB 0.87 billion.

For Jan-Sept 2010, VLT sales reached RMB 6.03 billion. Strong growth momentum maintains following the launch of new games across the nation since late 2009.

II. SPORTS LOTTERY

For Sept 2010, Sports Lottery accounted for about 42.15% (RMB 5.88 billion) of total lottery sales for the month. Lotto accounted for about 51.36% of total Sports Lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 23.47%, and Single Match Game of about 25.17%.

For Jan-Sept 2010, Sports Lottery accounted for about 41.79% (RMB 49.33 billion) of total lottery sales for the period. Lotto accounted for about 56.64% of total Sports Lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 24.11%, and Single Match Game of about 19.26%.

a. Sports Lotto

For Sept 2010, Sports Lotto sales increased by 7% YOY to approximately RMB 3.02 billion.

For Jan-Sept 2010, Sports Lotto sales increased by 10% YOY to approximately RMB 27.94 billion.

b. Sports Instant Scratch Cards

For Sept 2010, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 1.38 billion, up 6 % YOY.

For Jan-Sept 2010, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 11.89 billion, up 3% YOY.

c. Single Match Game

For Sept 2010, Sports Single Match Game Sales were RMB 1.48 billion, up 111% YOY.

For Jan-Sept 2010, Sports Single Match Game Sales were RMB 9.50 billion, up 124% YOY due to nationwide rollout since December 2009.
