CHINA LOTTERY PERFORMANCE: June 2011 UP 24% YOY; Jan To June 2011 UP 31% YOY

For June 2011, total lottery sales recorded a growth of 24% YOY to RMB 17.45 billion YOY (June 2010: RMB 14.08 billion). Please refer to the attachment for breakdown.

For Jan to June 2011, total lottery sales recorded a growth of 31% YOY to RMB 101.14 billion YOY (Jan to June 2010: RMB 77.23 billion). Please refer to the attachment for breakdown.

The lottery sales data reveals:

I. WELFARE LOTTERY

For June 2011, Welfare Lottery accounted for about 59.94% (RMB 10.46 billion) of total lottery sales for the month, up 31% YOY. Lotto games accounted for about 70.75% of total welfare lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 16.06%, and VLT of about 13.19%.

For Jan to June 2011, Welfare Lottery accounted for about 58.33% (RMB 58.99 billion) of total lottery sales for the period, up 32% YOY. Lotto games accounted for about 69.37% of total welfare lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 17.32%, and VLT of about 13.31%.

a. Welfare Lotto

For June 2011, Welfare Lotto sales were RMB7.40 billion, up 24% YOY.

For Jan to June 2011, Welfare Lotto sales were RMB 40.92 billion, up 19% YOY.

b. Welfare Instant Scratch Cards

For June 2011, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 1.68 billion, up 29% YOY.

For Jan to June 2011, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 10.22 billion, up 53% YOY.

c. Video Lottery

For June 2011, VLT sales were 1.38 billion, up 92% YOY.

For Jan to June 2011, VLT sales reached RMB 7.85 billion. Strong growth momentum is maintained following the launch of new games across the nation since late 2009.

II. SPORTS LOTTERY

For June 2011, Sports Lottery accounted for about 40.06% (RMB 6.99 billion) of total lottery sales for the month. Lotto accounted for about 57.80% of total Sports Lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 24.18%, and Single Match Game of about 18.03%.

For Jan to June 2011, Sports Lottery accounted for about 41.67% (RMB 42.15 billion) of total lottery sales for the period. Lotto accounted for about 51.96% of total Sports Lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 23.63 %, and Single Match Game of about 24.41%.

a. Sports Lotto

For June 2011, Sports Lotto sales is approximately RMB 4.04 billion.

For Jan to June 2011, Sports Lotto sales increased by 17% YOY to approximately RMB 21.90 billion.

b. Sports Instant Scratch Cards

For June 2011, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 1.69 billion, up 18 % YOY.

For Jan to June 2011, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 9.96 billion, up 23% YOY.

c. Single Match Game

For June 2011, Sports Single Match Game Sales were RMB 1.26 billion.

For Jan to June 2011, Sports Single Match Game Sales were RMB 10.29 billion, up 81% YOY due to nationwide rollout since December 2009.
