For Q1 2011, total lottery sales recorded a growth of 34% YOY to RMB 46.31 billion YOY (Q1 2010: RMB 34.62 billion). Please refer to the attachment for breakdown.

 

The lottery sales data reveals:

 

For Mar 2011, Welfare Lottery accounted for about 59.23% (RMB 11.26 billion) of total lottery sales for the month, up 46% YOY. Lotto games accounted for about 69.18% of total welfare lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 17.67%, and VLT of about 13.14%.

 

For Q1 2011, Welfare Lottery accounted for about 58.63% (RMB 27.15 billion) of total lottery sales for the period, up 34% YOY. Lotto games accounted for about 70.09% of total welfare lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 16.28%, and VLT of about 13.63%.

 

a. Welfare Lotto

For Mar 2011, Welfare Lotto sales were RMB 7.79 billion, up 30% YOY.

For Q1 2011, Welfare Lotto sales were RMB 19.03 billion, up 17% YOY.

 

b. Welfare Instant Scratch Cards

For Mar 2011, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 1.99 billion, up 84% YOY.

For Q1 2011, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 4.42 billion, up 73% YOY.

 

c. Video Lottery

For Mar 2011, VLT sales were 1.48 billion, up 135% YOY.

For Q1 2011, VLT sales reached RMB 3.70 billion. Strong growth momentum maintains following the launch of new games across the nation since late 2009.

 

For Mar 2011, Sports Lottery accounted for about 40.77% (RMB 7.75 billion) of total lottery sales for the month. Lotto accounted for about 49.55% of total Sports Lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 24.77%, and Single Match Game of about 25.68%.

 

For Q1 2011, Sports Lottery accounted for about 41.37% (RMB 19.16 billion) of total lottery sales for the period. Lotto accounted for about 50.37% of total Sports Lottery sales, followed by Instant Scratch Cards of about 23.12%, and Single Match Game of about 26.51%.

 

a. Sports Lotto

For Mar 2011, Sports Lotto sales is approximately RMB 3.84 billion.

For Q1 2011, Sports Lotto sales increased by 7% YOY to approximately RMB 9.65 billion.

 

b. Sports Instant Scratch Cards

For Mar 2011, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 1.92 billion, up 48 % YOY.

For Q1 2011, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 4.43 billion, up 38% YOY.

 

c. Single Match Game

For Mar 2011, Sports Single Match Game Sales were RMB 1.99 billion, up 112% YOY.

For Q1 2011, Sports Single Match Game Sales were RMB 5.08 billion, up 136% YOY due to nationwide rollout since December 2009.
