CHINA LOTTERY PERFORMANCE: Sep 2012 UP 4.4% YOY; Jan to Sep 2012 UP 20.1% YOY
Announced by the Ministry of Finance, for Sep 2012, total lottery sales recorded a growth of approximately 4.4% YOY to approximately RMB 20.512 billion (Sep 2011: approximately RMB 19.644 billion). Please refer to the attachment for breakdown.
The lottery sales data reveals:
I. WELFARE LOTTERY
For Sep 2012, Welfare Lottery accounted for approximately 57.71% (approximately RMB 11.837 billion) of total lottery sales for the month, up approximately 8.9% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and VLT accounted for approximately 71.23%,12.18% and 16.59% of total welfare lottery sales respectively.
For Jan to Sep 2012, Welfare Lottery accounted for approximately 58.62% (approximately RMB 111.076 billion) of total lottery sales for the period, up 21.0% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and VLT accounted for approximately 72.32%, 13.25% and 14.43% of total welfare lottery sales respectively.
a. Welfare Lotto
For Sep 2012, Welfare Lotto sales were approximately RMB 8.431 billion, up approximately 9.1% YOY.
For Jan to Sep 2012, Welfare Lotto sales were approximately RMB 80.329 billion, up approximately 24.4% YOY.
b. Welfare Instant Scratch Cards
For Sep 2012, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were approximately RMB 1.442 billion, down approximately 12.9% YOY.
For Jan to Sep 2012, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were approximately RMB 14.718 billion, down approximately 1.3% YOY.
c. Welfare Video Lottery
For Sep 2012, Welfare VLT sales wereapproximately 1.964 billion, upapproximately 32.2% YOY.
For Jan to Sep 2012, Welfare VLT sales reached approximately RMB 16.029 billion, up approximately 30.4% YOY.
II. SPORTS LOTTERY
For Sep 2012, Sports Lottery accounted for approximately 42.29% (approximately RMB 8.675 billion) of total lottery sales for the month, down approximately 1.1% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and Single Match Game accounted for approximately 59.00%, 15.85% and 25.15% of total Sports Lottery sales respectively.
For Jan to Sep 2012, Sports Lottery accounted for approximately 41.38% (approximately RMB 78.402 billion) of total lottery sales for the period, up approximately 18.8% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and Single Match Game accounted for approximately 58.35%, 17.19% and 24.46% of total Sports Lottery sales respectively.
a. Sports Lotto
For Sep 2012, Sports Lotto sales were approximately RMB 5.118 billion, up approximately 7.5% YOY.
For Jan to Sep 2012, Sports Lotto sales were approximately RMB 45.745 billion, up approximately 28.4% YOY.
b. Sports Instant Scratch Cards
For Sep 2012, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were approximately RMB 1.375 billion, down approximately 23.3% YOY.
For Jan to Sep 2012, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were approximately RMB 13.479 billion, down approximately 8.3% YOY.
c. Sports Single Match Game
For Sep 2012, Sports Single Match Game sales were approximately RMB 2.182 billion, down approximately 1.8% YOY.
For Jan to Sep 2012, Sports Single Match Game sales were approximately RMB 19.178 billion, up approximately 22.4% YOY.
