Announced by the Ministry of Finance, for Oct 2012, total lottery sales recorded a growth of approximately 6.0% YOY to approximately RMB 21.538 billion (Oct 2011: approximately RMB 20.328 billion). Please refer to the attachment for breakdown.

The lottery sales data reveals:

I.    WELFARE LOTTERY

For Oct 2012, Welfare Lottery accounted for approximately 55.82% (approximately RMB 12.023 billion) of total lottery sales for the month, up approximately 6.4% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and VLT accounted for approximately 71.21%, 11.85% and 16.94% of total welfare lottery sales respectively.

For Jan to Oct 2012, Welfare Lottery accounted for approximately 58.34% (approximately RMB 123.099 billion) of total lottery sales for the period, up 19.4% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and VLT accounted for approximately 72.21%, 13.11% and 14.68% of total welfare lottery sales respectively.

a. Welfare Lotto

For Oct 2012, Welfare Lotto sales were approximately RMB 8.562 billion, up approximately 4.2% YOY.

For Jan to Oct 2012, Welfare Lotto sales were approximately RMB 88.891 billion, up approximately 22.1% YOY.

b. Welfare Instant Scratch Cards

For Oct 2012, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were approximately RMB 1.425 billion, down approximately 9.5% YOY.

For Jan to Oct 2012, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were approximately RMB 16.143 billion, down approximately 2.1% YOY.

c. Welfare Video Lottery

For Oct 2012, Welfare VLT sales were approximately 2.037 billion, up approximately 35.5% YOY.

For Jan to Oct 2012, Welfare VLT sales reached approximately RMB 18.066 billion, up approximately 30.9% YOY.

II.    SPORTS LOTTERY

For Oct 2012, Sports Lottery accounted for approximately 44.18% (approximately RMB 9.515 billion) of total lottery sales for the month, up approximately 5.3% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and Single Match Game accounted for approximately 63.75%, 13.45% and 22.80% of total Sports Lottery sales respectively.

For Jan to Oct 2012, Sports Lottery accounted for approximately 41.66% (approximately RMB 87.917 billion) of total lottery sales for the period, up approximately 17.2% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and Single Match Game accounted for approximately 58.93%, 16.79% and 24.28% of total Sports Lottery sales respectively.

a. Sports Lotto

For Oct 2012, Sports Lotto sales were approximately RMB 6.066 billion, up approximately 16.0% YOY.

For Jan to Oct 2012, Sports Lotto sales were approximately RMB 51.811 billion, up approximately 26.8% YOY.

b. Sports Instant Scratch Cards

For Oct 2012, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were approximately RMB 1.280 billion, down approximately 24.5% YOY.

For Jan to Oct 2012, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were approximately RMB 14.759 billion, down approximately 10.0% YOY.

c. Sports Single Match Game

For Oct 2012, Sports Single Match Game sales were approximately RMB 2.169 billion, up approximately 2.8% YOY.

For Jan to Oct 2012, Sports Single Match Game sales were approximately RMB 21.347 billion, up approximately 20.1% YOY.

Welfare VLT maintains the highest growth YOY and year to date in all product types.
