Announced by the Ministry of Finance, for Apr 2013, total lottery sales recorded a growth of 21.1% YOY to RMB 28.561 billion (Apr 2012:  RMB 23.576 billion). Please refer to the attachment for breakdown.

For Jan to Apr 2013, total lottery sales recorded a growth of 16.5% YOY to RMB 97.622 billion (Jan to Apr 2012:  RMB 83.826 billion). Please refer to the attachment for breakdown.

The lottery sales data reveals:

I.    WELFARE LOTTERY

For Apr 2013, Welfare Lottery accounted for 54.66% (RMB 15.611 billion) of total lottery sales for the month, up 16.9% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and VLT accounted for 72.38%, 12.18% and 15.44%of total welfare lottery sales respectively.

For Jan to Apr 2013, Welfare Lottery accounted for 57.25% (RMB 55.886 billion) of total lottery sales for the period, up 14.9% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and VLT accounted for 72.95%, 10.85% and 16.20% of total welfare lottery sales respectively.

a. Welfare Lotto

For Apr 2013, Welfare Lotto sales were RMB 11.299 billion, up 18.0% YOY.

For Jan to Apr 2013, Welfare Lotto sales were RMB 40.768 billion, up 16.4% YOY.

b. Welfare Instant Scratch Cards

For Apr 2013, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 1.902 billion, down 8.5% YOY.

For Jan to Apr 2013, Welfare Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 6.064 billion, down 14.7% YOY.

c. Welfare Video Lottery

For Apr 2013, Welfare VLT sales were 2.410 billion, up 41.9% YOY.

For Jan to Apr 2013, Welfare VLT sales reached RMB 9.054 billion, up 39.0% YOY.

II. SPORTS LOTTERY

For Apr 2013, Sports Lottery accounted for 45.34% (RMB 12.950 billion) of total lottery sales for the month, up 26.7% YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and Single Match Game accounted for 58.04%, 13.19% and 28.77% of total Sports Lottery sales respectively.

For Jan to Apr 2013, Sports Lottery accounted for 42.75% (RMB 41.736 billion) of total lottery sales for the period, up 18.6 YOY. Lotto games, Instant Scratch Cards and Single Match Game accounted for 61.68%, 13.44% and 24.88% of total Sports Lottery sales respectively.

a. Sports Lotto

For Apr 2013, Sports Lotto sales were RMB 7.516 billion, up 35.6% YOY.

For Jan to Apr 2013, Sports Lotto sales were RMB 25.742 billion, up 26.8% YOY.

b. Sports Instant Scratch Cards

For Apr 2013, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 1.708 billion, down 5.4% YOY.

For Jan to Apr 2013, Sports Instant Scratch Cards sales were RMB 5.608 billion, down 10.5% YOY.

c. Sports Single Match Game

For Apr 2013, Sports Single Match Game sales were RMB 3.726 billion, up 29.6% YOY.

For Jan to Apr 2013, Sports Single Match Game sales were RMB 10.386 billion, up 20.6% YOY.
